Laika 3d Acrylic Keychain

To honor some of the animals that have furthered our discovery of space and safe space travel, I created the Space Buddies series. This keychain has designs on the top, middle of the acrylic sheets, and bottom to create a sort of 3d lightbox effect. The design features the Space Dog Laika.

One of the first animals in space, Laika was a stray picked up in Moscow and was used to test if living organisms could survive space launch. Unfortunately, tech had not been created at that time to bring her back, so she perished in space. She has been memorialized in several ways in Russia, on stamps, plaques, and even as a statue behind the cosmonauts.
